Application Process & Timeline

Asian students from Mainland China, Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea applying for a full-time degree program or who are currently enrolled at any of our Participating Universities are eligible for the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program.

1 Dec 2016 - 31 Jan 2017    Online Application

Eligible applicants must first register their interest and complete the online application process on our website.

Online application will close on 31 January 2017, after which the Participating Universities ("PU") will be notified and provided access to the data submitted by the applicants.

Applicants should complete the online application process in English.

1 Feb - 10 Mar 2017 Recommendations from PUs

Subject to each PU’s own admission timetable, the PU may recommend up to 10 candidates to the Institute on or before 10 March 2017.

For PUs with an admission timetable that extends beyond the end of January, the Institute may, at its sole discretion, allow for late applications.

For each recommended candidate, the PU will provide the Institute with the following:

a) Applicants' transcript
b) PU's recommendation letter

13 Mar - 17 May 2017 Interviews

After receiving recommendations from all PUs, the Institute's Academic Committee will assess the recommended candidates and provide their comments to the Institute's Executive Committee. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview by the BXAI Selection Panel.

On or before 31 May 2017

Conditional Scholarship Offers

Award of the AFLSP Pool scholarship will be made conditional upon the candidate’s acceptance and enrolment at one of the PUs.

Each of the awardees accepting a scholarship offer must sign a commitment letter regarding his/her attendance at the BXAI Summer Program before receiving any benefits of the AFLSP.

Selection results will be announced on our website in 31 October 2017.
